APR Round Tanks
APR tanks are designed so that the fit-out can be done easily onsite. Check that your site is safe before beginning installation. When your tank is in position you can begin fit-out.
List of tools required:
- Ladder
- Rope or conduit
- Hole saw & drill
- Thread tape
- Phillips head screw driver
- Multi-grips
Inlet
Use a ladder to access the mosquito proof strainer supplied with your tank over the inlet. The tank inlet is positioned so that water can be directed to the strainer.
Outlet
The tank outlet can be placed anywhere around the bottom rib of the tank. Ensure the outlet will fit flush to the tank wall.
Overflow
The tank overflow can be placed anywhere around the top rib of the tank or in 1 of 4 optional roof overflow locations (for extra tank capacity). Overflow must be piped away from tank to prevent undermining the base.
25mm Flex Hose Kit
Connection of the tank to a pump must be done with a flexible hose kit allowing the tank wall to move as it drains and fills with water.
Installation Steps
- Mark the position on your tank where you would like the outlet.
- Using a hole saw drill a hole where your outlet ball valve will fit.
- Choose where the overflow goes and drill out using a hole saw.
- Run a rope through the overflow or inlet hole and pull through to the outlet hole.
- Use the rope to insert the brass fitting into the outlet hole by removing the nut and sliding the brass outlet and the washer down the rope to the outlet side.
- Attach the nut back to the brass outlet (left hand thread) and screw on the ball valve using plumbers tape. Tighten with multi-grips.
- Insert the overflow squarely ensuring the seal meets the tank wall and screw into place.
- Remove the overflow screen.
- Use thread tape to connect the flex hose and attach to the ball valve.
- Tank can be connected to pipework or a pump once the outlet, ball valve and flex hose are fitted.
