Our tanks are made from AS/NZS 4020:2006 certified food-grade, BPA-free material and are suitable for storage of potable water.
For additional information on use of rainwater for drinking please consult your local council or water authority.
Regular maintenance of your rainwater tank is recommended to keep debris and pests out. As a guide:
- Tanks should be inspected for accumulation of sludge every 5-10 years
- Regular maintenance inspections should be undertaken every 6 months
- Regular cleaning of the leaf strainer, if being used as an inlet, needs to be at least every 3 months
- If a wet system is used it also needs to be drained at least ever 3 months
It is also important to keep roofs and gutters clean as this will impact on water quality.

In April 1850, Cameron obtained 80 acres (0.3 km2) of freehold land (his station was on a pastoral lease) and established the private town of "Panoola", later known as Penola. By 1850, he had built the Royal Oak Hotel and was doing much business supplying liquor to the many travellers passing through to the Victoria goldfields.
