Our tanks are made from AS/NZS 4020:2006 certified food-grade, BPA-free material and are suitable for storage of potable water.
For additional information on use of rainwater for drinking please consult your local council or water authority.
Regular maintenance of your rainwater tank is recommended to keep debris and pests out. As a guide:
- Tanks should be inspected for accumulation of sludge every 5-10 years
- Regular maintenance inspections should be undertaken every 6 months
- Regular cleaning of the leaf strainer, if being used as an inlet, needs to be at least every 3 months
- If a wet system is used it also needs to be drained at least ever 3 months
It is also important to keep roofs and gutters clean as this will impact on water quality.

The oldest parts of modern Plympton Park can trace their heritage back to the original subdivision of the area in the 1880s, when the Ryan family's farm was first subdivided. This area, bounded by Marion Road, the Glenelg tram line and South Terrace, contains the oldest houses in the area, including one in Arthur Street that dates back to the 1880s, and one adjacent the tram line that can be dated back to the 1890s.Further subdivision in the 1950s saw the establishment of properties in the southern portion of Plympton Park. This area was originally known as Brayville North. Plympton Park Post Office opened on 1 May 1956.Today, the South Australian Government (through Housing SA) continues to own many properties in the suburb. A few of the vacant lots that have sat abandoned until recently have been sub-divided and low income housing has been built by Housing SA and a consortium of local developers.
